The nurses accepted our apology for being late and began prepping Mollie for surgery. By 7am, they had monitored both Mollie's and the baby's vital signs and gave us the go-ahead for our 7:30 date with Baby #2.I got to put on this cool outfit so I could be in the room although I was warned not to touch anything.
Several minutes of nervous swaying by me, and a whole lot of doctor type stuff, we welcomed a 8lbs, 6oz, 20 inch baby girl, Meredith Riley Sheely into the world.
They kept Meredith with us for the entire time. As of 7pm tonight, she had not been separated from us at all. They even gave her her first bath in the room with us.
She shivered a little but was not nearly as vocal as Logan was in his first bath.
Meredith had two visitors today as well. Both Grandma Kathy and Grandma Jill came up to visit our new addition.
She is such a mellow baby, she just latched on to whoever is holding her and is content to curl up and sleep. She only cried a few times the entire day. Here's hoping that is a harbinger of good (restful) things to come.
I also picked up Logan from daycare and brought him to see Meredith and Mommy. We stopped at the gift shop and he picked out a gift bag for Meredith with a stuffed giraffe and a bath set. He was very good with her and with some subtle reminders, he was very gentle. He can even say Meredith which is so cute.
